Philosophy
My name is Reid Kruger, Producer/Engineer for Waterbury Music and Sound. It is my goal to understand the interaction of individual performance, acoustic space, technologies new and old to deliver the most satisfying listening experience based on the needs of your project.
Having a wide range of multimedia experiences, it is clear that every recording project presents a unique set of artistic and technical considerations. I remain open to collaboration in achieving the sounds necessary for your project at all times.
Working with the latest technologies and constantly striving to expand my skills as a multi-instrumentalist, I provide flexibility at every step of the sound recording process.
My studios are located at the Grainbelt Bottle House and my home and all are welcome.
Training and Experience
Since the early 1990's, I have trained extensively in classical 'tonmeister' microphone and recording techniques. I began my audio studies at the University of Iowa under the direction of Prof. Lowell Cross and Theresa Leonard.
I continued to develop my skills during a three year residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts (Banff Nat'l Park, Canada -- ooh what a rough life it was) where I worked and studied under such recording and producing greats as George Massenburg, Bob Ludwig (Gateway Mastering), Rob Rapley (Sony Classical), David Frost and John Eargle.
